Engine and Performance Specs

The Altima is equipped with a standard 188-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine mated to a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). The optional turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder produces 248 horsepower and also uses the CVT. While Nissan supports advanced variable compression technology, only a 2.5-liter engine can be combined with an all-wheel drive.

The VC-Turbo engine speeds up Altima significantly. It reached 60 mph in 5.9 seconds and can go from 50 mph to 70 mph in just 4.1 seconds (to simulate highway driving).

Fuel Economy

Nissan Altima's two gasoline engines have high EPA fuel economy and even better real-world results. The 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine is estimated to have a 28 mpg city and a 39 mpg highway. The EPA estimates that the all-wheel-drive model can capture up to 26 mpg of cities and 36 mpg of highways. The VC-Turbo engine delivers 25 mpg cities and 35 mpg highways.

Interior and cargo

The Altima has a 15.4-cubic-foot trunk space, the average for a midsize car class. This Nissan can seat a maximum of five people. The eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat and cloth outfit are standard. Available upgrades include sporty seats, leather upholstery, heated front seats, and heated steering wheel.

It includes Nissan Connect Infotainment System, 8-inch Touch Screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, two USB ports, Satellite Radio, Bluetooth, Remote Start, Push Button Start, Rearview Camera, Fabric Applause and Eight-way Power Supply - adjustable driver's seat, forward collision warning, and automatic forward emergency braking.

Nissan Altima SR

It adds reverse blind-spot monitoring, automatic emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, lane departure warning, automatic high-beam headlights, and pedestrian detection. It also includes a leather steering wheel, and the front-wheel-drive model gets a sporty suspension.

Nissan Altima SV

The SV uses a tracking distance indicator, front automatic emergency braking, lane-centering feature, and ProPilot Assist, which acts primarily as adaptive cruise control. It can speed up and apply the brake at the Altima under certain conditions. In addition to automatic dual-zone climate control, the SV also comes with premium package contents.

Nissan Altima SL

The SL trim gains navigation, HD Radio, traffic sign recognition, a nine-speaker Bose stereo, and leather-appointed seats.

Nissan Altima Premium

Platinum is the top-notch Altima added with a surround-view parking camera system. Like the SR, the platinum fairing is available with the four-turbo engine, but this is an additional cost.
